The Naval Museum Presents “The Maritime Heritage of Bulgaria” Documentary Photo-Exhibition
Since 26 September (Tuesday), at the entrance of the Sea Garden, residents and visitors of Varna could view “The Maritime Heritage of Bulgaria” documentary photo-exhibition – a deep dive into the history of the Naval Museum from its establishment to this day.
This year, the Museum marks a double anniversary – 140 years since the founding of the first museum collection and a 100 years since the opening of the Maritime Museum in Varna – the spur for the retrospective exhibition. The latter presents emblematic and poignant episodes from the unveiling of the exhibition in the sea capital, as well as moments Varna citizens have come to consider milestones – the transformation of the Drazki Torpedo Boat into a Museum-Ship, and the installation of the Cor Caroli yacht in the open-air exhibition.
The exhibition tracks the different stages in the evolution of the Naval Museum – the preservation of relics, the enrichment and modernisation of the museum spaces, the building of the impressive open air exhibition, participation in underwater surveys and discoveries, organization of academic forums, numerous festive celebrations, as well as specially tailored to the children events.
The exhibition will remain on display until 15th October.
